What is the difference between single pane and double pane(Insulated Unit)?
Single pane has one piece of glass and Double pane has 2 pieces of glass with an air space in between the 2 pieces.
What is the difference between 1/8" glass and 1/4 glass?
We do 1/8" glass or mirror in picture frames or cabinets. We use 1/4 glass for shelves and table tops. 1/4" mirrors are used for our mirrors.
What is difference with framed, semiframeless, and frameless shower doors?
Framed shower units are usually the least expensive and has a metal frame all the way around unit. Semiframeless is a 1/4" glass unit with metal in the hinge area and attaches to a magnetic metal strip on the closer side. There is no metal around the rest of the door. Frameless door is a 3/8" glass unit with a metal pivot on top and on bottom of door.
What is the difference between polished edges and non-polished edges?
We polish all edges of mirrors and glass that are exposed. We do this process so the glass is smooth with no sharp edges. We usually will not polish the edges if it slips into a frame of some sort.
What type of glass do you need in a shower unit or a door?
Tempered glass is the type of glass used for safety reasons. When this glass breaks it has the appearance of a car window when it breaks.
What is armour guard?
This is a process that is heated into a shower glass unit to protect the glass from water stains. It helps stop the corrosion process before it starts.
What is the standard shower door opening?
30" wide is the opening size that is standard.
